Why The Need For
This Ministry?
The
Bigger Picture
In this
season or hour of time it is more and more apparent that the
great harvest of the end of the age is at hand, but the laborers
are few. The end of the age will see a church that is glorious
and very powerful in God--holy (without spot, wrinkle or blemish).
By and large the church of North America, in its current state,
falls far short of what the Lord has in mind for His bride
that He will come back for. The closest parallel to most churches
in our nation would be that of the church of Laodiceans (Rev.3-14-19).
The cry of Jesus to this church was to be zealous and repent!
Probably the greatest present lack or shortfall in the church
as a whole is the level of unselfish commitment (lukewarm)
toward God-secondly a passionate love for the lost--the great
commission, which is the heart beat that God has for His church.
The state of apathy is most apparent if we were to honestly
admit that, "the effectual and fervent prayer that avails
much" both personally and corporately in our churches
is very slack. Also the lack of passion to take the love of
Christ outside the four walls of the church building to a
lost and hurting world needs to be radically changed before
a real end time harvest comes in.
There
are several other obvious reasons that the church of North
America is not currently experiencing the level of revival
and harvest that other countries are encountering. Primarily
our idols of materialism, selfishness, apathy and other sin
issues are obvious. The blindness of eyes and hearts in this
country to either need or want a Savior is very apparent (Rev.3:17).
Sadly to say these issues exist not only outside the church,
but also prevail within the church body as a whole. This in
many ways provides a poor witness of the power and love of
God to draw the unsaved to our Savior. The present generation
will not be won unless the church of Jesus Christ radically
changes into a powerful witness of truth, love and dynamic
power of God's presence.
The season
of change toward revival will come within our nations and
within the body
of Christ when we humble ourselves and pray. We are seeing
small glimpses or pockets of a genuine move of the Holy Spirit
in revival in our nation. The Holy Spirit is bringing a more
wide-spread, growing hunger in the hearts of people across
North America. There is a stirring and a return to prayer
these days for a move of God to powerfully visit our nation,
which is exciting. The cry of Jesus in Rev.3:17-19 was a.
See the state of affairs as they really are (assessment) -
wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. Jesus then said,
"as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore b.
Be zealous and repent" (action). The question is how
and when will we respond to this call? We do not want to miss
out on what it will take to help usher in the next move of
God.
